Prime Minister Moktar Ould Ajay announced on his official Facebook page that 142 national companies have begun implementing the Emergency Program for Access to Basic Services for Local Development, launched by President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani from the city of Néma.
He explained that the program started simultaneously in 11 regions, marking the largest integrated development project ever undertaken in the country. The first phase covers 223 municipalities, with field operations extending to over 2300 towns and villages.
Ould Ajay added that the preparatory stages included participatory planning, self-financing, and transparent tenders, emphasizing that the next major challenge is ensuring implementation according to technical specifications and contractual deadlines.

His Excellency, the President of the Republic, Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, today launched from Néma the operational phase of the Emergency Program for Access to Basic Services for Local Development.
A simultaneous launch across 11 regions for the largest integrated development program. 142 companies are already active on the ground in this first phase, covering 223 municipalities and over 2300 towns and villages.
After overcoming challenges related to participatory design, self-financing, and transparent bidding, the main challenge now, which will be met God willing, is ensuring implementation according to specifications and deadlines.
