During a meeting with the officials and notables of the Adh-Dhar district (N’Beiket Lahwach), President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani declared that there will be no more tolerance for the use of tribal, regional, or social affiliations in contexts that contradict the principles of the national state.
He emphasized that public servants and state representatives are strictly prohibited from organizing or participating in tribal or regional activities, or in any event that may undermine national unity.
The Head of State also warned against tribal conflicts, particularly those related to water wells, sand barriers, or local borders, stressing that such practices are harmful to the present and future of the nation and are no longer acceptable.
He insisted that national belonging must prevail over all other identities, and that no propaganda based on race or community will be tolerated, even under the pretext of freedom of expression.
President Ghazouani affirmed that the country’s development and prosperity can only be achieved through the building of a true citizenship-based state, free from social hierarchies and community divisions.
He added that his approach to public governance is based on patience, gradual progress, and balanced solutions, but warned that forgiveness will no longer be an option once the limits are crossed.
The president called on political, social, and youth elites to raise awareness of the dangers of tribalism and regionalism, and to promote national cohesion and unity.
In the second part of his speech, President Ghazouani expressed his happiness to visit N’Beiket Lahwach, describing it as a strategically important city for regional security, and thanked its people for their warm and symbolic welcome.
He recalled that the government has placed the development of this district among its top priorities, with several agricultural and infrastructure projects, some of which have already been completed, others under implementation or planned as part of the emergency plan to improve access to essential services.
